Hello to this week's blog,I'm on holiday from my regular job at VW, to get the crafty bug again, I have watched quite a few films and made new things since the last blog post, so new sweeties to go to Life's Big Canvas and going to chat to a lady at a new shop that has opened about Dolly's Jewels, and there is a sale on the page at the moment....

Films that I have watched some retro, some not ....

Sleepless in Seattle - Tom hanks love this film , it's happy and sad all at the same time
Whip it - roller derby with Ellen Page, and Drew Barrymore - class film

Some girly films , last chance Harvey and the Rebound and The Sweetest thing also Intolerable Cruelty and Kate and Leopold . I have Netflix now , can you tell ?

I have updated the Etsy shop as well , and have made a commission necklace for a lovely lady , mum of Kevin whom I work with , thanks Marjorie . I will let you know if I get the stockist so it will be exciting times ,

Bobbie' s adventures

Jim and myself have decided to let bob outside, he went into the garden and around the bins, hope he comes back :) I was thinking of changing the blog to Bobbie' adventures as I don't watch as many films as I was and due to small reader numbers. What do you think ?

Bit of a quiet week with films but we did go and see Django Unchained , it was really bloody but it was really excellent especially Jamie Foxx. the soundtrack is awesome as well. I have finished watching house of cards , also been watching 1st series of vampire Diaries , I'm obsessed, think I prefer Damon to Stefan , think because my new boss is a Stefan and I have a ex boyfriend called that as well , nothing really new in the dolly household , except my WIFi was broken but that is a dull, I did my good deed for the week and have Jonny a TV for him to up cycle at his shop , think it may be cat related, TTFN for now

New Year - New Direction

Hello Dolly Fans. This is this week blog, I'm trying something a bit different and watch more modern telly and films , so this weekend as I was away in sunny Cambridge I watching Tangled ( with a 3 year old ) and also the kids are al right with Julianne Moore but I haven't watched the end, I have also been sorting my iBooks library out with some classics like pride and Prejudice and wuthering Heights, and have been watching a new series called House of Cards on my Netflix with Kevin Spacey. That is really good, and he talks to the camera( I like that)

So this should make me feel like I'm in the 2000's and not stuck in the 80's although I do love rock of ages and could watch it every week . I am going to make some jewels in the next week and speak to a new shop about stocking some pieces, wish me luck

Bobbie News

Our kitty is called Bobby and he is extra special and very cute ....sorry got carried away

Jimbo my fiancé has asked me to watch a film out of my comfort zone this week so I watched The Usual Suspects . It was good especially like young Stephen Baldwin . Watch Bio Dome Actually Dont! I also watched Gnomeo and Juliet and Burlesque , love the latter adjust up my street with vintage corsets and pearls and diamonds. Love Christina Allegia - wrong spelling and Cher is brilliant plus Stanley Tucci and Alan Cummings , it's defo worth a watch .

This week we hopefully buy the ring and then think about setting a date for the wedding!!!!!!

I am off to Cambridge at the weekend so may not have access to the web so will try to update later in the week

Engagement News

Hey Dolly fans, sorry I have not posted for a long time, this last month has been crazy, grandma has been poorly and me and Jim got engaged!!

I also been watching some old films but not 80's - lost boys excluded. I watched Dracula the Gary Oldham version / the best in my opinion and atonement which is more modern plus A dangerous Method so basically a Keira Knightley session , I haven't make much Jewellery lately, but now have Internet at home and New IPad so updating the blog will be better than popping down to Dad,s house , anyway films to watch this month are Dusk til Dawn ( firm favourite) and Mannequin and TED. Already watched Ted , really funny and rude especially the party with Sam Jones- love Flash Gordon lol .

My Lovely Stockist -Life's Big Canvas

hello again from Dolly, sorry for no blog posting lately....

I have been trying to watch 80's movies and also listen to some five star and huey lewis and the news.

I have been working on the new range of Jewellery and this will be winging its way to Pesky |Chloe at Birds yard soon,
Chloe's beautiful shop is Life's Big Canvas is on the first floor of Bird's yards on Kirkgate in Leeds City centre and I have been stocking there from almost 2 years and has been running Designs By Dolly for a bit longer than that. it is going well and am hoping to have a new stockist soon, fingers crossed ....!!!! Im also going to try the blog as a video !!!

keep watching it will probably be a pod bean !!!

Hello again from Dolly, its weird weather in Leeds today,

I am writing a new blog post about the beginning of |June and all the jubilee parties  im cheerful today and on the Ipod today are Human League and Wham very retro, However this post I wanted to mention I love new stuff also like Emilie Sande anD Carly Rae Jepsen, also me and cousin Anna went to see Steps back in April in Nottingham, and last year vme and my boyfriend and his sister went to see Lady Gaga in Sheffield Arena, she was amazing, well worth £45.00 !!!

Back to the 80's my copy of Sixteen candles came from Ebay and I watched with actipation However it is a really good film, it was not as good as breakfast Club or Pretty in Pink, but as it it the earlier of the 3 films, and she was just strarting out, it was still very good, Anthony Michael hall was a typical Geek !!

Music Selcetion  for This is Circle in the sand by Belinda Carlisle, her songs feature heaving on My dolly Mix on the ipod, Back to Molly I love her electic style in Pretty in Pink and her good girl/turn the bad boy round awesomeness in breakfast club although she has ginger hair and im a brunette, I really empathise with her as I was buillied at school for being different in high school so all 3 films really mean a lot to me.
